Nueva Zelanda
Luxurious, medium-bodied red made from grapes grown on a single vineyard with alluvial loam soils, located in the Wairarapa Valley. Organically farmed and manually harvested. 13.5% vol.
Appellation: Wairarapa
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir, principally Dijon clones.
Winemaking: Grapes were 100% de-stemmed, cold-macerated and fermented in stainless steel vats. Aged during 18 months in used French oak barrels (45% new & 55% used).
Tasting Notes: Deep garnet. Aroma of black cherries and baked plums with notes of thyme, crushed pepper and liquorice. A wine already showing great complexity, with a firm tannin structure, yet smooth mouthfeel. Its oak ageing intensifies the underlying flaavors of dark cacao and spices. Best enjoyed: 2022 to 2025.
Presentation: Cardboard box of 6 bottles.
Availability: Very limited.
