Coppi Primitivo Don Antonio

Italia / Puglia

Rich, full-bodied red made from grapes grown the hills of the Marchione district of Puglia. Karst & clay soils, rich in limestone. Manually harvested. 14.5% vol.

Appellation: Puglia IGP

Grape Variety: 100% Primitivo

Winemaking: Vinified using carbonic maceration for about 7-8 days, followed by the malolactic fermentation in 100 hl Slavonian oak barrels. Aged in the same barrels for 6 months followed by at least 1 year in the bottle.

Awards: Gamberro Rosso: 3 glasses. Luca Maroni: 93 points in his Guide to the Best Italian Wines. Falstaff: 93 points and Trophy. 91 points at 5Star Wines by Vinitaly 2021

Tasting Notes: Bright garnet. Rich aroma of spicy black fruit, berries and figs. Dry and full-bodied, with polished tannins and a smooth finish. Serve with Italian or Spanish cold cuts, meatballs or pizza. Best enjoyed: 2022 to 2026.
