Information about the winery

Without a doubt, Barolo is one of the most interesting wine regions of Italy mostly due to its rugged topography, diverse soils and its highly personalized winemaking tradition. For these reasons, parallels with Burgundy are often drawn. In very broad terms, the appellation is divided into three zones which follow river valleys, with those wines from the village of Serralunga in the southeast being the most powerful, long-lived & full-bodied. It is precisely for this reason that we are so proud to introduce the wines of Paolo Manzone to the Spanish market. Besides the obvious quality of their wines, this producer also provides Mundidrinks with a more complete vision of the Barolo appllation. The Cru Meriame estate of Serralunga has belonged to the Luisella family for generations. Nestled between the villages of Baudana and Lazzarito and with a south/south-western orientation, it boasts 14 hectares planted with Dolcetto, Barbera, Arneis and, naturally Nebbiolo, The Nebbiolo based wines include village Barolo and Barolo single Cru, as well as a Barolo Riserva. Paolo Manzone produces full-bodied wines made in the traditional method, with manual harvesting, slow fermentation and long wood ageing.
