Information about the winery

The Clare Valley is a green oasis rising above a rich grain growing region in South Australia. With a warm climate and fertile eroded limestone lands, the Clare Valley region produces highly refined wines with high acidity and outstanding regional characteristics. In addition to its extraordinary reds, the area produces some of Australia's best dry whites, particularly Riesling.
Kilikanoon Winery was founded in 1997 by Kevin Mitchell, a vintner born and raised in the Clare Valley. In a short time his winery has managed to stand out among the best Australian wines. Mitchell says, “I try to create a full-bodied style of wine – big and characterful. I try to make rich, round, chocolatey reds, wines that can be drunk young but that at the same time mature well over the years.”
Robert Parker has ranked Kilikanoon as one of the Clare Valley's outstanding wineries, having received excellent reviews from Australian and international critics.
