Information about the winery

Family winery founded in 1952 and managed today by the Sabon family and winemaker Didier Negron, a traditionalist who favours ageing in large oak barrels for 6 months after a long time in vats. Elegance prevails over strength in the wines, which means that they might not show their full potential in the early years; however, they gain depth and complexity over time and are currently considered among the best Châteauneufs in the market.
Most of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards are located in the northeast area, with sandy and chalky soil. The winery also has vineyards in Le Crau, known for its clay soil under a thick layer of Alpine galets. With vineyards on both sides of the Rhône pertaining to different appellations, this winery produces a large diversity of wines. Although most of the grapes grown are Grenache, it also grows varieties like Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Terret Noire, Counoise, Vaccarèse Muscardin, Roussanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc and White Grenache.
