Alvina Pernot, born and raised in Puligny-Montrachet, grew up helping her father and uncle at Domaine Paul Pernot throughout her childhood. Ambitious to make her own wine, Alvina established her own micro-négoce (yet effectively Domaine) in 2018 and now focuses entirely on this enterprise with her husband Philippe Abadie. While maintaining and benefiting from ties with the family estates, they are specifically sourcing grapes that allow for a house style. “We are looking to make wines with a bit more tension, so for example we chose the highest altitude parcel of the family’s four plots in Les Folatières’. Only tiny quantities are produced, and many of the cuvées are just a single barrel, but we are sure that this is a producer we will hear more about in the coming years.
