Huon Hooke: "Deep red/purple colour, still youthful and fresh, the bouquet is gloriously complex and multi-faceted, loaded with smoky coal-dust, earthy, graphite nuances overlying licorice, dark cherry and dark chocolate. It’s full-bodied and quite powerful, bigger than normal for Tyrrell’s, with abundant tannins that are in harmony with the rest of the wine. An enormously impressive win which is starting to drink superbly and has many years ahead of it. A smashing shiraz".
