One of Australia's greatest whites and the Hunter Valley's top wine, Vat 1 is a dry aromatic wine made from grapes grown in the historic Short Flat vineyard, planted in 1923. Manually harvested.
11.0% vol.
Appellation: Hunter Valley (NSW)
Grape Variety: 100% Semillon
Winemaking: The grapes were lightly crushed before a relatively cool fermentation in stainless steel. After a short period on gross lees, the wine was racked and left to mature in stainless steel for a further five months before bottling. Aged in the bottle for over five years before release.
