Tyrrell's Hunter Valley Semillon

Australia

2024
Light-bodied dry white made from old vines grown in the Hunter Valley, an area famous for the production of high-quiality Semillon. Harvested mechanically at night to maintain fresh acidity. The most representative wine from the Hunter Valley appellation.
11.5% vol.

Appellation: Hunter Valley (NSW)

Grape Variety: 100% Semillon

Winemaking: Fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and aged for three months on its fine lees to gain complexity.

Tasting Notes: Pale straw colour. Aroma of grapefruit and lemon peel. Light & refreshing, this wine has a silky texture and would combine nicely with salads, deep-fried squid and other summer dishes. Best enjoyed: 2025 - 2035.

Presentation: Cardboard boxes of 6 bottles with twist-cap closures.

What do the experts say?

Decanter Magazine (95 points): After just one sip, the grandeur here is apparent. While this is a youthful wine, there is incredible perfume, flavour intesity, and a super-refined finish. It is drinking, but will outrun many innocent Semillons by a mile. I was hypnotised by the sleek, super-cool lemon balm, white flower hints and minutes long finish. It's a stunning wine by a world-class winery. Drink best 2024-2034.
