Francia / Borgoña / Beaujolais
Light-bodied dry red made from grapes grown on 50 year old vines from two vineyards in the hills around the village of Julianas, in southern Burgundy. Granite and sandy soils with chalk, One of the most typical "cru" wines of Beaujolais, with great balance & elegance. Biodynamic cultivation. 12.5% vol.
Appellation: Beaujolais Cru
Grape Variety: 100% Gamay
Winemaking: Fermented in stainless steel vats for 12-15 days and then aged for 12 to 14 months in a combination of new and used oak casks. Each parcel is vinified separately and a final blend is produced before bottling.
Awards: Wine Searcher: 90 points (average)
Tasting Notes: Deep carmine colour. Forward aroma of red fruit & fresh flowers, especially roses. Elegant, silky texture with cherry fruit flavour and a long finish. Serve with warm weather meals, especially salads or lighter meat dishes. Best enjoyed 2020 to 2024.
