Schubert Pinot Noir Marions Vineyard 2018

Luxurious, medium-bodied red made from grapes grown on a single vineyard with alluvial loam soils, located in the Wairarapa Valley. Organically farmed and manually harvested. 13.5% vol.

Appellation: Wairarapa

Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir, principally Abel y Pommard clones.

Winemaking: Grapes were 100% de-stemmed, cold-macerated and fermented in stainless steel vats. Aged during 12 months in used French oak barrels.

Awards: Cameron Douglas MS: 95 points. Per Bill in Diner Viner Professional Edition: 93 points. Jancis Robinson: 16.5 points.

Tasting Notes: Ruby red. Fine bouquet of red fruits and spice with hints of sandalwood. Flavor of ripe berries and dark cherries with a subtle note of forest floor and dried leaves. Good structure, fresh acidity with a velvety texture and lasting finish. Best enjoyed: 2022 to 2025.

Deep garnet. Luscious aroma of ripe strawberries and cherries with subtle hints of clove and orange peel. On palate, rich flavor of vanilla, pomegranate and Mediterranean spices. Rounded, silky tannins. Best enjoyed: 2023 to 2030.
