Elegant full-bodied red made from grapes grown on a single hillside vineyard in the historic center of the Chianti appellation at 430 meters above sea level. Limestone marl with very low organic or clay content. Manually harvested. The best wine from Castellare and one of the most highly rated wines of Tuscany.

Winemaking: Made in stainless steel tanks and aged for 24 to 30 months in French oak barrels (50% new). Aged in the bottle for one additional year before release.

Falstaff: Sparkling ruby with a slight garnet rim. Opens with slightly green-spicy components, coriander seeds and white pepper, then juicy cherry, some plum. Lots of fine-meshed tannins with a firm core on the palate, builds up in many layers, juicy cherry and fine herbal spice, firm pressure.
