Italia / Piamonte
2022
Full-bodied dry red made from vineyards growing in the hills around Verduno, in the Barolo district of the Piedmont.
15% vol.
Appellation: Barbera d'Alba
Grape Variety: 100% Barbera
Winemaking: Eighteen months of ageing in Slovenian casks and French oak barrels help make this Barbera much smoother than most in its class. Additional 9 months of maturation in 500 liter wooden barrels followed by subsequent assembly and aging in large barrels.
Tasting Notes: Deep cherry red. Aroma of ripe plums, cherries and toasted oak. A highly-concentrated full-flavored wine, with fresh acidity and noteworthy tannins. Highly recommended, but still very young. Best enjoyed: 2024 to 2028
Presentation: Cardboard box of 6 bottles.
Raffaele Vecchione: Delicate and persuasive, it displays a multifaceted sensory profile of mixed red flowers, mandarin peel, lavender, karkadè, wild thyme, peonies, jasmine, guarana and pomegranate. A subtle presence of hawthorn dominates the secondary scene. Medium body, perfectly ripe tannins of a velvety nature and an iconic finish for gracefulness and relaxation. The Barbera is grown on 3 plots in two municipalities: Verduno and Roddi. One of the best Barberas ever tasted. Drink now or age.
