Medium-bodied, dry red made from a local grape grown in the hills around the village of Prepotto, in Udine, on the border of Slovenia. Manually harvested from vineyards on clay soils with south eastern exposure.
13,5% vol.
Appellation: Friuli Colli Orientali
Grape Variety: 100% Schioppettino
Winemaking: Fermented in stainless steel with malolactic in oak barrels (of varios ages) for at least one year.
Awards: Berlin Wine Trophy: Gold Medal
Tasting Notes: Bright ruby red. Rich aroma of woodland berries, raspberry and white pepper. Intense and sharp flavour. Long finish with light tannins. Pair with roasted meats and seasonal cheeses. Best enjoyed: 2020 to 2025.
