Full-bodied, dry red made from the traditional blend of local varieties, all grown in the historical central zone ("classico") of the appellation. 14% vol.
Grape Variety: Corvina 60%, Corvinone 20%, Rondinella 10%, Molinara 7% & Oseleta 3%
Ageing: Aged for 18 to 20 months in large oak casks (26 hl.) after having a second fermentation ("ripasso") with the skins & pips of Amarone.
Awards: Luca Maroni: 93 points. Guía Vini Buoni d'Italia: 4 stars. Von Falstaff Trophy & 92 points.
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red. Rich aroma of berries, ripe cherries & plums. Rich & complex, with more weight and ripeness that the regular Valpolicella. Good match for grilled meats, roasts or mature cheeses. Best enjoyed: 2020 to 2027.
