Barrel-aged, sweet fortified red made from the traditional blend of Port grapes of all grown on schist soils. 20% vol.
Appellation: Oporto
Grape Variety: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca & Tinta Cao.
Winemaking: Partially de-stemmed. Fermentation halted by the addition of grape brandy (77%), then aged during four years in oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Ruby red. Aroma of ripe, jammy red fruit and licorice. Rich and concentrated, an ideal wine to be served served with blue cheeses. 102 gr./l. residual sugar. This style of Port should be consumed on the same day it is opened. Best enjoyed: over the next ten years.
