Powerful & sweet fortified red made from the traditional blend of Port grapes of all grown on schist soils. 20% vol.
Grape Variety: Tourga Nacional, Tourga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca & Tinta Cao
Ageing: Partially de-stemmed. Fermentation halted by the addition of grape brandy (77%), then aged during four years in large oak casks.
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red color. Fresh & fruity with notes of black licorice. Well-balanced & concentrated, ideal for after dinner with blue cheeses, especially Stilton. 102 gr./l. residual sugar. This type of Port needs to be consumed on the same day that it is opened. Best enjoyed over the next 10 years.
