Powerful, full-bodied dry red made from grapes grown on old vines in various parcels around the Clare Valley. 14.5% vol.

Grape Variety: 100% Grenache

Winemaking: Fermented spontaneously with only native yeasts in open tanks. Aged in large French oak barrels ("hogheads") for 15 months. Neither fined nor filtered before bottling.

Awards: Decanter Awards: 93 points. International Wine & Spirit Competition: 91 points.

Tasting Notes: Brick red with crimson hues. Attractive aroma of black cherries, potpourri, smoke and marzipan. A fresh palate with a flavor of ripe cherries, dark chocolate, spices and kirsch. Fine chalky tannins and oak influences rounding out to a long finish. Best enjoyed: 2022 to 2030.
